Imagine being a teenage runaway and realizing that experience is what defined your passion.
Yes, I have been on my own since the age of 15. I found myself in challenging and scary experiences which kept me in ‘functional freeze’ for quite some time. Though it was a necessary survival mechanism, it allowed me to later recognize my resilience, adaptability, empathy and emotional regulation.
I poured everything into my career because money was tight, and I couldn’t afford a continued education right out of high school. Subsequently, in my early twenties, I knew I wanted to be a counselor to other runaways and troubled youth. I thought earning my degree as a registered nurse would help me pursue my passion. I knew I was tapping into something as I was passing through my psychology, biology and sociology courses. Unfortunately, after 1.5 years into college, I realized an RN wasn’t exactly the right step for me.
Gratefully, it was within my professional life as a coach, trainer, and supervisor I was getting closer to my purpose. The learned skills and understanding I picked up from college and career helped me become a great coach, along with companies investing in me and my continued education. When my professional incumbents recognized my talent, I knew it was just a matter of time. I continued to focus on my career – it’s all I had, and it means everything to me. It has taught me respect, patience, ethics, value and as the years passed, who I am and what that really means to me. I've served in some of the following industries: Nursing Care, Alternative Medicine, Medical Device, Fleet & Audio/Video.
Now, I am ready more than ever to be here with you. Whether you are just starting in the workforce, transitioning from an entry to intermediate level in your career, or checking in with yourself to be the best (unstuck) version of you. I'm glad you are here.
~In the moments of reflection, allow the echoes of your past to gently fade into the distance. Each echo carries with it a lesson guiding you towards a space of understanding and peace. Embrace the echoes, for they are part of your journey, but let them not define your future. Healing is found in the acceptance of these echoes, and in the courage to move beyond them.~
